Tatsumi and Partners prepared the design concepts for this one block Metro Rail station facility located along the highly urban environment of the Wilshire Boulevard corridor. The firm's designers studied the various issues related specifically to mass transit ingress and egress facilities such as drop-off points, passenger pooling areas, seating and graphics, art program, streetscape, landscaped areas, circulation patterns, interaction with surrounding urban activities, vandalism, crime and the integration of rail support facilities into the visual context of the site. Additional research was given to the feasibility of developing a vendor/concession area for revenue generation and the temporary use of adjacent empty lots as parking areas. Accommodations were also considered throughout the project.
