O'Melveny Park Site Renovation
|
O'Melveny Park is a 690-acre regional park of the City of Los Angeles. Site renovation tasks were identified and discussed during numerous meetings with local residences as well as the local Councilman and his staff. These meetings often ended with agreement and applause from the local residence. The funding sources were a State of California bond and FEMA. Used extensively by local residences and equestrian riders, the design goal was to retain the natural, woody image of the original park. All parking facilities were re-configured, a new visual theme was established, self-guided tour materials and trails were arranged and areas exhibiting significant storm-related damage were engineered. Old concrete curbs were replaced with new, log and stone curbs and drinking fountains were replaced with current standard City of Los Angeles fountains, modified to blend in with the character of O'Melveny Park. |
